Mobile Device Recording
Record your iPhone or iPad screen by plugging it into your Mac via USB.
Requirements
- iPhone or iPad connected via USB (Lightning or USB-C)
- Device must be unlocked
- You must have tapped "Trust" on the device when prompted
How it works
Once connected, your device appears as a capture source in ShipClip. Select it and hit record. ShipClip captures the device screen at its native resolution along with device audio.
The device is detected automatically after you connect it. If it doesn't appear, try unplugging and reconnecting, and make sure the device is unlocked with the trust prompt accepted.
What gets captured
- Video: The device screen at native resolution
- Audio: Device audio is captured simultaneously
When to use it
- Mobile app demos
- Recording iOS workflows for tutorials
- Bug reports that need to show mobile behavior
Tips
- Enable Do Not Disturb on your device before recording to avoid notifications in your capture.
- Portrait recordings are fully supported. ShipClip detects the orientation from the video frames.
