Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

ShipClip is operated by Ligma Digital (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the ShipClip macOS application, website (shipclip.app), and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier, name, and email address (or Apple’s private relay email if you choose to hide your email). We store this to create and manage your account.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe provides us with a customer identifier and basic transaction details (amount, date, status). See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Recordings & Videos

Screen recordings are created and stored locally on your Mac in ~/Movies/ShipClip/. If you choose to upload a video for sharing, it is stored on our servers (Cloudflare R2, S3-compatible storage). Uploaded videos are only accessible via their unique sharing link unless you delete them.

Usage Analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog collects anonymized usage events (e.g., feature usage, app opens) without cookies. You can opt out of analytics in the app settings. See PostHog’s Privacy Policy.

Error & Performance Monitoring

We use Elastic APM to monitor backend performance and errors. This may include request metadata (IP address, user agent, endpoint accessed) to diagnose issues. This data is retained for operational purposes and is not shared with third parties.

Email Address

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address to send product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve ShipClip
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Host and deliver shared videos
• Send product updates (with your consent)
• Diagnose bugs and improve reliability

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Stripe. Payment processing
• Cloudflare. Video file storage (R2) and CDN
• PostHog. Anonymized product analytics
• Elastic. Error and performance monitoring
• Apple. Sign In with Apple authentication

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Uploaded videos are stored until you delete them or your account is closed. Deleted videos are permanently removed from our servers within 24 hours. Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

7. Security

We use HTTPS for all communications, encrypt data at rest, enforce authentication on all user-facing API endpoints, and follow secure development practices. However, no system is 100% secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to ryan@shipclip.app.

8. Cookies

ShipClip uses a minimal set of cookies:

• Session cookie. Keeps you signed in (HttpOnly, Secure, 30-day expiry)
• XSRF token. Protects against cross-site request forgery

We do not use tracking cookies. PostHog analytics are cookie-free.

9. Children’s Privacy

ShipClip is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
