How it works
- Drop a video file or click to browse (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM).
- Pick your bitrate. 192 kbps is a good default, 320 kbps for maximum quality.
- Click “Extract MP3” and wait.
- Preview the audio and download.
What bitrate should I use?
- 128 kbps — Smallest file. Fine for spoken word and podcasts.
- 192 kbps — Good balance. Recommended for most uses.
- 256 kbps — Hard to distinguish from the original.
- 320 kbps — Maximum MP3 quality. Use for music or archival.
Common uses
Turn a video interview into a podcast episode. Pull the audio from a presentation. Save a soundtrack. The MP3 format plays on every device and is easy to share. Drop it into Slack, email it, or upload it anywhere.
Is it private?
Your video stays on your machine. FFmpeg runs locally via WebAssembly. No data touches any server. Close the tab and it’s gone.
Record with separate audio tracks
ShipClip records your mic and system audio as separate tracks. Edit each one independently: adjust volume, mute, or add automation keyframes without affecting the other. No need to extract audio after the fact when you have full control during editing.
