How it works
- Drop your MOV file or click to browse.
- Click “Convert to MP4” and wait for the conversion.
- Download your MP4.
The conversion runs in your browser using WebAssembly. No upload, no server. The only limit is your browser’s available memory.
Why convert MOV to MP4?
MOV is Apple’s format. It works on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, but that’s about it. Windows, Android, most web players, and every social media platform expect MP4. If you’ve got a QuickTime screen capture, a Final Cut export, or an iPhone recording, converting to MP4 makes it playable everywhere.
Is the quality the same?
Yes. When the codec is compatible, this tool re-wraps the video into an MP4 container with no re-encoding and no quality loss. When re-encoding is needed, it uses H.264 at high quality. The output looks identical to the original.
Is it private?
Your file never leaves your machine. FFmpeg runs locally via WebAssembly. No data touches any server. Close the tab and it’s gone.
What MOV files does this support?
QuickTime recordings, iPhone videos, Mac screen captures, Final Cut Pro exports — anything standard. If your MOV uses an unusual codec, the conversion may fail. In that case, HandBrake is a solid fallback.
Skip the conversion entirely
ShipClip records your screen directly to MP4, so there’s no conversion step. It also zooms into your clicks automatically so viewers can follow along, adds captions, and gives you a shareable link with analytics. Know who watched and where they dropped off.
