Audio Editing
Per-track volume, mute/solo, and volume automation keyframes.
Per-track controls
Each audio track (system audio, microphone) has its own controls in the track header:
- Volume slider: Adjust from silence to 2× amplification. Unity (no change) is at the midpoint.
- Mute: Silence a track without removing it. Muted tracks are excluded from preview and export.
- Solo: Listen to only this track. Everything else is muted. Useful for isolating a problem or checking audio quality.
Volume automation
For more precise control, expand the automation lane below any audio track. This lets you change volume over time using keyframes.
How keyframes work
- Click in the automation lane to add a keyframe at that time and volume level.
- Between keyframes, volume interpolates smoothly. By default this is linear, but you can apply an easing curve to any keyframe for non-linear transitions (see Easing Curves).
- Drag keyframes to reposition them in time or volume.
Use cases
- Fade in/out: Ramp system audio down while you start talking, then bring it back up.
- Duck music: Lower background audio during narration sections.
- Emphasize a moment: Boost a specific section where something important happens.
