Annotations
Draw arrows, rectangles, and text on your recording. Blur sensitive areas. All non-destructive and adjustable.
Shape types
- Arrow: Draw from point A to point B. Great for pointing at specific UI elements.
- Rectangle: Draw a rectangular outline around an area. Use it to highlight a region or, with blur fill, to obscure sensitive content.
- Text: Add a text label with an optional background. Useful for callouts, step numbers, or explanations.
Editing properties
Select any annotation to edit it in the inspector panel:
- Color: 7 presets (orange, red, yellow, green, blue, white, black) or pick a custom color
- Stroke width: Adjust the line thickness
- Blur fill: Toggle to blur the screen content behind rectangles or text boxes (useful for hiding passwords, emails, etc.)
Text-specific options
- Font size: 16pt to 96pt
- Alignment: Left, center, right, or justified
- Background fill: Transparent or solid color behind the text
- Corner radius: Round the corners of the text background
Timeline placement
Each annotation appears during a specific time range in your recording. In the annotation lane below the timeline, annotations show as horizontal bars that you can drag to move or resize.
Annotations stay attached to their source time. If you trim or split the timeline, annotations are remapped to match.
Tips
- Use blur-filled rectangles to hide sensitive information that appeared during recording without needing to re-record.
- Annotations are rendered at the recording's native resolution, so they stay crisp at any export size.
