System Audio

Record the sounds coming from your Mac — app audio, notification sounds, music, anything playing through your speakers.

How it works

Toggle system audio on in the recording controls. ShipClip captures all audio output from your Mac as a separate track using ScreenCaptureKit.

Because it's a separate track, you can adjust its volume or mute it entirely during editing without affecting your mic recording.

When to use it

  • Product demos where you want to capture UI sounds
  • Tutorials that play audio or video content
  • Any recording where the viewer needs to hear what you hear

Tips

  • No extra software or virtual audio drivers needed. ShipClip captures system audio natively through macOS.
  • If you're also recording your mic, consider enabling echo cancellation to keep system sounds out of the mic track.
